Invisalign
Serving Bethesda, Clarksville
and the Greater Maryland area
The Invisalign clear braces system is a popular new option for many of our orthodontic patients.
Providing the alignment many patients need, without unsightly or cumbersome braces, Invisalign works by gently and gradually guiding the teeth into position using a series of clear, nearly invisible plastic aligners.
How Invisalign works
The first step in an Invisalign procedure is to take a precise impression of your bite. We will also establish what your final, corrected smile should look like.
Using this information, we will have a series of custom aligners created, which will gradually and permanently guide your teeth from their current position to their final configuration.
Once we have created your custom Invisalign aligners, you will be instructed to wear each one in sequence for a specified length of time—usually about two weeks for each aligner. The aligners are clear, so they'll be virtually invisible on casual inspection, and they're removable, so you can take them out for eating and for brushing and flossing.
The number of individual aligners in your personal system and the length of time for your course of treatment will vary depending on the type and extent of your particular treatment.
